BSCN’s three pillars of service include the senior center, Cognitive Health Services, including dementia respite and caregiver support and education, and Clinical Services, including mental health counseling and case management. BSCN is one of 111 Senior Centers accredited by the National Council on Aging. It is the only senior center in the United States offering comprehensive services in one place - a new 30,000 square foot award winning building on 11.7 acres in Naples, Florida.

Position 1
Licensed Clinical Counselor
BSCN is seeking a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or a Licensed Mental Health Counselor for our mental health program to provide psychotherapy in individual and group treatment.  At BSCN we believe in empowering older adults to thrive emotionally, socially, and physically. Our model of care combines individual therapy with dynamic groupwork to reinforce emotional well-being and combat isolation and loneliness. We are seeking a skilled, empathetic LCSW/LMHC who will be instrumental in providing tailored psychotherapy services and facilitating supportive group environments. The LCSW/LMHC will play a critical role in improving the quality of life for our older adult community by delivering compassionate individual psychotherapy, guiding group therapy sessions, and collaborating on innovative treatment plans.

Responsibilities

  • Assessment and Treatment Planning

    o   Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to determine their unique mental health needs.

    o   Development and implementation of individualized treatment plans that incorporate both individual psychotherapy and group interventions.

    o   Utilize and apply skills in diagnosing mental health disorders using the DSM V-TR to ensure accurate, evidenced-based treatment.

    Therapy and Group Facilitation

    o   Provide evidenced-based individual psychotherapy tailored to address issues such as depression, anxiety, grief, and life transitions common among older adults.

    o   Design, lead, and evaluate group therapy sessions that foster social connection, resilience, and peer support.

    o   Facilitate specialized support groups for caregivers of individuals with loved ones displaying cognitive decline, offering psychoeducation, resource referrals, and a safe space to share experiences and adaptive strategies.

    Accurate Documentation and Communication

    o   Ensure all client records, case notes, and treatment plans are completed accurately and submitted within specified timeframes, maintaining compliance with clinical and ethical standards.

    o   Exhibit strong written communication through clear, comprehensive reports and notes, while employing effective verbal skills during team consultations, case reviews, and client interactions.

    o   This role requires diligent record-keeping to support therapeutic continuity and facilitate seamless collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to establish quality of care.

    Collaboration and Coordination

    o   Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including case managers, Senior Center staff, and the Cognitive Health Center to coordinate holistic care.

    o   Actively participate in team meetings dedicated to discussing complex cases, sharing best practices, providing insights to refine clinical processes, and providing peer support. In these sessions, you’ll collaborate on innovative approaches, ensuring a continuously improving and supportive work environment.

    Maintain compliance with quality improvement standards and goals

    o   Regularly review treatment protocols, case files, and session documentation to ensure they align with both industry best practice and organizational performance standards.

    o   Participate in continuous professional development.

    o   Perform other duties as assigned.

    Essential Qualifications

    ·   Licensure and Degree

    o   Must have a master’s degree in social work or mental health counseling.

    o   Must hold a current LCSW or LMHC in the state of Florida.

    ·   Experience

    o   Demonstrated experience working with adult populations in individual psychotherapy and group settings.

    ·   Skills and Competencies

    o   Skilled in evidence-based therapeutic modalities.

    o   Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

    o   Ability to maintain ethical standards and exercise professional judgment.

    o Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Electronic Health Records.

    o Demonstrate capability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
