Baker Senior Center Naples Honors Volunteer of the Year

Baker Senior Center Naples, a nonprofit organization that provides comprehensive programs and social services for seniors and their families in Collier and southern Lee counties, has named Noreen Peters as its seventh annual Volunteer of the Year. The award was presented during Baker Senior Center Naples’ 14th Annual “Evening for Better Tomorrows” fundraising event on January 10th at a private country club in Naples.

Noreen brings warmth, curiosity, and a strong sense of purpose to Baker Senior Center Naples. With a career that included roles in retail, advertising, sales and marketing, training, and human resources, she has long valued service and connection. Originally from New Jersey, Noreen has lived in the U.S. Virgin Islands, California, and South Carolina before finding a home away from home at Baker Senior Center Naples. She began volunteering nearly two and a half years ago as a Wednesday lunch table hostess and quickly expanded into respite care, tour guiding, food pantry, and teaching crochet.

What she values most is the personal connection she makes with members, volunteers, and staff, and the opportunity to make a positive difference. Through her time at the center, Noreen has found renewed purpose, fulfillment, and joy in serving others.
